Does He hear me?

Picture it, Jim Carrey as Bruce Almighty, sitting at his computer screen. He is reading emails (prayers) addressed to God. Then he begins to hear them, ALL of them, ALL at once! Do you ever wonder if in the midst of all the sound of all the prayers across the globe, that God may not hear yours? He is God, He knows you, sees you, and hears you! He hears every prayer, every cry for mercy, every plea for Him to come through. (I love the LORD because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Psalm 116:1)

In all my praying, I am sure I have wondered a time or two if He has heard me. Is it because I was impatient? Well certainly not (sarcasm of course). Was I overly expectant, not expectant enough, or just the right amount of expectant? Not sure I could live up to Goldilocks' example. If there is one thing I do know for sure, God works things out in His timing. That timing may not be, well most of time will not be the timing we hope for. But rest assured, He fulfills His promise, HE IS FAITHFUL!

Whatever you may be praying for; for you, a family member, a friend or maybe even your church, do not grow weary friends.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have what we ask of him. 1 John 5:14-15

So in my prayer life, walk really, I have not sprinted to the prayer life I currently have, my language has changed. Redirecting my thoughts to approach the Father in a less selfish manner has humbled my prayers, has completely transformed the way my prayers are delivered. Changing my requests or demands if you will, to a desire to see His will fulfilled for each prayer I speak was the ultimate goal. When the perspective and expectation are redirected toward God working His power for each spoken or unspoken prayer, we can be confident in the outcome. Again, not in our timing but His. Not in our lifetime perhaps, but His word confirms that whatever we ask, we will receive. (Matthew 21:22)

In the words of our Pastor from his current series; are you living expectantly? Expectant that your heavenly Father has heard your every prayer? My friends, if you are a follower of Christ, a child of the one true King, live expecting Him to know you, see you and hear you!
